Home Safety and your Automatic Garage Door Opener

If you're leaving home for a period of time, unplug your garage door opener and lock the door. Thieves may patrol the area with an opener of their own testing to see who's door opens. Another good idea is to reset the "factory" code on your opener to a personal one.

Removing Oil From Garage Floor

In an area where a large amount of oil has dripped, lay several thicknesses of newspapers. Saturate the paper with water and press flat against the floor. When dry, remove the newspaper and spots will have disappeared.

You may need to repeat this process more than once.
