Remove Sweat Stains in Clothing

To remove sweat and perspiration stains from your clothing, Add 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar per gallon of water. Soak until stain disappears then launder as usual.

Whiter Clothes - Laundry Tip

For use with white cotton, nylon and polyester only

1/4 c. liquid detergent
1/4 c. electric dishwasher detergent
1/4 c. bleach OR ammonia BUT NOT BOTH
1/2 - 1 bucket warm water

Soak until stain disappears and launder as usual

Removing Grape Juice From Clothes

Hydrogen Peroxide will remove most organic stains, including grape juice & red wine.

Purchase Peroxide when it's on sale and keep one bottle in the medicine cabinet & one bottle in the laundry area. Pour it on wet or dry fabric, let sit for 15 min, repeat if needed.

Remove Iron Scorch Marks

Soak a rag in vinegar, and use it to dab at the scorched area. Then, blot the stain with a clean rag, and it should lift the stain. Note: It may take more than one application to fully remove the scorch mark.

Removing Rust Stains

Rub a paste of salt and vinegar into the stain; leave it to stand for 30 minutes, then wash as usual.

Remove Candle Wax on Material or Clothes

Remove the excess the best you can. This is best done by putting an ice cube on the wax to harden it, then peeling or scraping off the excess wax.

Then place an absorbent piece of paper underneath, such as a brown paper bag. Put a white paper towel on top. Place a warm (not hot) iron on top over the paper towel and it should draw the wax up to the towel.

Salt Stains on Shoes

Apply white vinegar to shoes with a rag and wipe off salt stains. This also de-activates the salt.
